The distance learning courses are increasingly becoming popular these days. The huge number of distance learning courses available shows that any person can pursue courses from any university or state. The number of institutes offering distance learning courses has been increased these days due to the increased demand for correspondence courses. Not only the students prefer for distance learning but also working women, and professional show interest for distance learning courses. Distance learning is mainly accepted in remote areas since those people could not enroll in any colleges or universities.
The courses that come under distance learning are categorized under various disciplines such as arts and science, commerce and more. Students can go for both postgraduate and undergraduate courses under distance learning. Some U.G courses offered under distance learning are B.A English, B.A History, sociology, psychology, political science, Hindi, Sanskrit and several others. Not only U.G courses but also B.Ed, and some masters degree courses are available under distance learning. The distance learning IT courses are offered at Mumbai University. Some certificate courses conducted through distance learning are certificate in computer programming, English for communication, fashion designing, home management, cosmetic science and more.
