I have had an on line shop for years selling books both from my own website and selling through Amazon and eBay but had never heard about conversion optimization until a friend was discussing it with me the other day. They were explaining the importance of getting visitors to your website, to actually buy things rather than just browsers. It made me feel rather silly that I tend to concentrate on, getting traffic and just hope that they will buy something and do not concentrate on the specific traffic that I am targeting. By using good conversion marketing techniques I could be finding that although my site visitors may go down, I could get a much bigger volume of visitors actually buying items. This is of course the reason for having the on line store and makes so much sense. I will certainly be looking into working on this in the future rather than just worrying about how many people are visiting my website. Hopefully I will see an increase in my sales as well as an increase in my profits as I will not be wasting money promoting my site to people who are not interested in spending any money there.
